APRIL NEWS Spring has definitely sprung here at Northland Manufacturing and all around Tallahassee. It seems that April showers have started a little early this year, but that's okay, I am sure we are all looking forward to the May flowers. But with the advent of the April flowers, also comes the dreaded countdown towards Friday, April 15th - tax day. Hopefully everyone one is done with their taxes and won't have to wait in the long lines at the post office on that day. There are so many better ways to start the weekend - like going to beach since we are finally starting to see the sun. We want to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers, vendors, clients, friends, and family a VERY HAPPY EASTER. We also have some new additions to the website that we would like to point out. We have added a can liners section. You can find it in the janitorial supplies page or by clicking here. Additionally, we have added several new items to our chemicals line - a Kreme Klenser for your bathroom (it has a little bit of grit in it but won't scratch your surfaces), a Non-Acid Bathroom Cleaner (for those that want the great cleaning power of our Bathroom Renovator without the acid base), and a foaming aerosol disinfectant spray. DECEMBER NEWS Christmas is only a few weeks away and as we mentioned before, Northland Manufacturing is trying to do its part to try and give Christmas to children that otherwise would not be able to have one by partnering with the United States Marine Corps and their Toys for Tots program. Each customer that brings in a new unwrapped toy will receive a 15% discount on their chemical or janitorial purchase. And with fall's arrival, we are anticipating the arrival of a new product that we are very excited about - the new Eco-Fresh Bowl Clips. These new "GREEN" bowl clips are 100% recyclable, will not dissolve in or pollute water, and are low VOC. We hope that this school year will be a success for everyone. September is going to be an exciting month for us. We continue to welcome the newest Birdwell, Chase Parker, was allowed to go home from the hospital only two weeks after gracing us with his anticipated presence. He continues to grow like a weed and is a happy and healthy baby. And speaking of new members of the Northland family, we want to welcome our newest service director - Andy Deer. AUGUST NEWS As we try to stay cool during this record breaking summer, August continues to be an exciting month for the Northland family. And speaking of the Northland family, we are very excited to welcome the newest Birdwell, Chase Parker, born on July 25 at 5 pounds 3 ounces. On July 29, we had our 2010 customer appreciation day. We want to thank all of our customers for making it such a success. We also want to thank Rita's Italian Ice for helping us beat the heat. As always, it was super yummy. Additionally, we want to express a warm welcome to our new sales representative, Brett Sutton. He will be servicing Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. As Tallahassee gets into the full swing of summer, June will continue to be a busy month for us. As we mentioned last month, Northland Manufacturing participated in the Second Harvest of the Big Bend's annual fundraiser, Skip Lunch Fight Hunger. Thanks to all of the donations from our friends and customers, Northland was the #4 fundraising team this year. As such, we will have a spot on one of the Second Harvest's trucks. MAY NEWS May, and the promise of summer, is finally here and it marks the second month of our new website. We have some exciting news to share. Northland Manufacturing has entered the digital age with more than just our website and online ordering – which many of our customers are taking advantage of. We now have a fan page on Facebook and you can join us in order to receive special discounts and win free stuff by clicking on the button on the left or here. We have also joined the Twitter revolution and you can get our tweets and follow us by clicking on the button on the left or here. In addition, we have added some new things to our online catalog. We now have paper products available for online ordering, including bath tissue and paper towels. All of our paper products match the paper dispensers that we carry and most of the dispensers that will be in your place of business. Finally, for the month of May, Northland Manufacturing has partnered with America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend for their annual "Skip Lunch Fight Hunger" fundraising campaign. Skip Lunch Fighting Hunger is a community wide initiative that asks individuals to donate what they normally spend on lunch to fight hunger in the Big Bend. An average lunch costs $10, that $10 in the hands of America's Second Harvest could provide a meal for forty people. We are asking to donate anything they can in order for us to reach our fundraising goal of $1000 towards this worthy and amazing organization and campaign. APRIL NEWS April has been a busy month for us here at Northland Manufacturing! We would like to announce the launch of this new website and invite you to browse around and take a look at all of our changes. Just some of the current and upcoming changes include downloadable MSDS sheets, an online catalog, a reference area (coming soon!) and a feedback form. Not only will you be able to browse our products, both chemical and janitorial; you will be able to see the equipment lines that we carry, and see our equipment rental rates, as well as having full access to our reference area. This reference area will show proper hand washing techniques, how to strip a floor, information about microfiber, and videos about some of the products and equipment we carry. Please use the "Contact Us" section to send us feedback; we want to make sure that visiting our website is a pleasant experience for all of our customers, both current and prospective.
In addition to our new website, we would also like to thank all of you who came to our Open House Thursday, April 8th, from noon until 7 PM. Everyone enjoyed the food provided by Rita’s Ice and Coosh’s Bayou Rouge, as well as the bounce house for the kids. And of course the adults enjoyed the opportunity to play with the machines, ask questions about the products we carry, and generally get to know us. Thanks to local businesses, we also had a raffle for some amazing door prizes ranging from photography packages to gym memberships to accounting services. Thanks so much for those of you who joined us - a fun time was had by all, despite the weather!
